ECDE Program Launch – A New Chapter for Early Learners

On Saturday, 14th March 2026, the school marked a historic milestone – the official launch of our ECDE program, opening a new chapter for early learners in the community. The event brought together families, educators, and community members to celebrate the beginning of something truly special. The atmosphere was filled with joy, color, and the kind of excitement that only new beginnings can bring. For the little learners at the heart of the celebration, it was the start of a journey that will shape who they become. Watch the full highlights of this beautiful day and experience the joy of our community coming together – ECDE LAUNCH – ST. GEORGES GROUP OF SCHOOLS, NAKURU

What Is the ECDE Program at St. George’s?

Early Childhood Development and Education, commonly known as ECDE, is the foundation upon which all future learning is built. Research consistently shows that the experiences a child has between the ages of two and six have a profound impact on their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. St. George’s Grassland recognizes this truth and has designed its ECDE program to give every child the strongest possible start.

The program covers Playgroup for children aged two to three years. Through guided play, music, storytelling, creative activities, and structured social interaction, learners develop confidence, curiosity, communication skills, and basic coordination. Every element of the program aligns with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), ensuring that children grow in a holistic way.

A Community Celebration

The launch event was more than a school function — it was a community celebration. Parents, guardians, teachers, and guests came together, united by a shared belief in the power of early education. There were smiles, laughter, special moments, and a sense of pride as St. George’s took this bold step forward.

Our mission is a daily commitment. The ECDE program launch embodied that spirit completely. Every child who walks through our doors steps into an environment designed to nurture their light, celebrate their uniqueness, and build their confidence from the very beginning.

What to Expect Inside the ECDE Classroom

Teachers create a warm, structured, and stimulating space where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, and express themselves. Learning happens through play, song, art, and guided activity. Children build early literacy and numeracy skills naturally, without pressure, at a pace that honors their individual development. The focus is not just on what children learn but on how they feel while learning – confident, valued, and excited to come back the next day.

Why Choose St. George’s for Your Child’s Early Education?

St. George’s Grassland Academy is a leading Christian-based educational institution in Nakuru with over two decades of experience shaping young minds. The school has built a reputation for academic excellence, strong moral values, and a genuine love for students. With over 20 qualified and dedicated members of staff, a warm and structured learning environment, and a curriculum that balances academics with creativity and character, St. George’s is uniquely positioned to deliver world-class early childhood education.

The newly launched ECDE program brings all of these strengths to the youngest members of the St. George’s family. Parents can take comfort knowing their children are learning in a safe, faith-inspired, and professionally managed environment where every child matters.

The Importance of Starting Early

Child development experts agree — the earlier a child begins structured, nurturing education, the better their long-term outcomes. Early childhood is the period of the fastest brain development in a human’s life. Children who receive quality ECDE education are more likely to perform better academically, develop stronger social skills, and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.

By launching this ECDE program, St. George’s is not just opening a new class. The school is investing in the future of this community — one child at a time.
